26 Fanciful Fairy Houses: The Fairy House Festival Through the Years

Since 2008, our fairy house trail has invited festival guests to embark on a magical walk in the woods, where our incredible volunteers, the Fairy House Exhibitors, have placed their unique creations to welcome the sprites, elves, and fairies of the forest. Fairy schools, fairy libraries, fairy pirate ships, and fairy hot air balloons… each year, we are thrilled and inspired by the inventive creations of our hardworking Fairy House Exhibitors. This year's fairy house trail promises to be the most colorful and diverse collection of structures we’ve seen and that says something considering the past delightful creations dotting the trail.

In the months leading up to the Festival, people who have signed up to be Fairy House Exhibitors collect natural materials from the local landscape: twigs, pine cones, acorns, pebbles, and more. With these materials, they create the fairy houses.

The result—imaginative, creative dwellings that spark the imaginations of festival goers young and old.

As we prepare for our 10th Annual Fairy House Festival, we're eager to take a moment to look back on all of the whimsical creations that volunteers have made over the years.
