Meet a Builder: Luna
The Fairy House Festival is two weeks away! A lot of work goes into making this annual tradition a success; we couldn’t do it without our volunteers and, of course, our builders. It is the builders who contribute the original creations that dot the fairy house path. Every year we welcome first time builders and we are energized by their enthusiasm. We are lucky also to have several veteran builders from past years, like Kate Deslauriers and Jeanne Waldren. Many builders team up with a sibling, a parent, a grandparent, or participate as part of a community group or school group.
One builder whose participation we value so much is Luna of Chester, Vermont. Luna is now 14, but she has been participating with the festival for many years. Last year her fairy house contribution was a highly-detailed restaurant and general store called the “Flying Newt”. We were lucky to catch up with her recently; she even graciously let herself be filmed! Thank you Luna for being a part of this special weekend!
