Saturday Night (A)LIVE: Nocturnal Animal Program for Families
Join us this Saturday, July 23rd at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center for a family-friendly program that begins in the early evening and stretches into dusk. Young and old will learn about the fascinating skills and unique attributes that enable our nocturnal animal friends to thrive at night with "vision" that transcends the visual.
After learning about these special creatures, we'll head outside to build a bonfire and to play some games. Join us at the fire circle to practice safe fire making techniques through the use of "primitive" tools. We will bring the s'mores supplies if you'll help gather the wood and find your own roasting stick!
Lastly, use your newfound nocturnal senses to explore the woods during a guided night hike set to begin at dusk. Be prepared for a easy to moderate hike over uneven terrain.
Explore Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center any day to celebrate summer! Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, disc golf and picnicking while soaking up some of the most beautiful surroundings in Vermont.
This program admission is by donation and begins at 7:00pm; drop-ins are welcome, but it is a great help to us if you R.S.V.P. in advance if possible. Hope to see you there!
