Volunteer Day: Wetland Restoration in the Chapman Meadow

  • 186 Townshend Road Grafton, VT, 05146 United States (map)

We're excited to share an upcoming volunteer opportunity on Saturday, May 13th at 10am - 2pm -- Wetland Restoration in the Chapman Meadow.

Part of our multi-year plan to restore and protect this important habitat is to plant native species in the wetland buffer zone -- and we'll start that project on the 13th.  We'll be planting bareroot, woody shrubs with shovels and other planting implements -- and we'll also provide snacks, beverages, and good company!

The native shrubs we’re planting include: grey dogwood, elderberry, shrub willow, choke cherry, and arrowwood.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about native wetland plants and the Chapman Meadow wetland. Whether for a half hour or the whole time, we'd love to have your help. Send us an email at info@nature-museum.org with any questions, no registration is necessary.

In case the weather is bad or we have more shrubs to plant, we'll be out again on Saturday, May 21st as well.
