Come join us during April Break Week to celebrate the earth by exploring, discovering, and learning! The museum will be open for all to explore our exhibits and enjoy various self-guided activities. Each day has several activities planned. These are open to all ages and participation is by donation. The schedule below lists the activities planned for each day.
Wednesday, April 15th
The Nature Museum has an amazing collection of natural specimens for exploration. Join us for a hands-on program, Fur Feathers, and Bones, from 10-11, and get inspired by learning more about the animals living around us.
From 2 - 3, head outside to the meadow and forest for a Nature Scavenger Hunt.
Thursday, April 16th
Critter Camouflage runs from 10:00AM - 11:00AM. Come learn about the many adaptions that animals have to blend in or stand out in their environments. We'll take a look at some hands-on items, investigate amazing pictures, and play some fun games to learn more about camouflage.
In the afternoon from 2:00PM - 3:00PM, we will take to the outdoors for Free Play and Fort Building in the wonderful nearby forest.
Friday, April 17th
Our World of Owls program runs for 10:00AM - 11:00AM. Whooo WhOOoo! Learn about these magnificent silent predators! Lots of hands-on items such as talons, wings, and feathers make this program a favorite. We will dissect REAL owl pellets to learn more about what these winged wonders really eat. Registration for this morning program is encouraged!
Join us at 1:00PM for a sweet treat as we share a magnificent Earth Day cake for all to enjoy. Cake is first come first serve! Note: The cake may contain dairy, nuts, and soy. In the afternoon from 2:00PM - 3:00PM, we'll take to the outdoors for some fantastic fairy house building in the wonderful nearby forest.
