West River Montessori Pond Exploration Field Trip
We had a wonderful field trip visit from the West River Montessori School! For our pond exploration, we learned about why ponds are special as well as what kinds of animals live in and use ponds. Children and adults went off with nets and jars to explore and capture pond creatures of all kinds! We saw turtles, red-spotted newts, bullfrogs, fish, and many kinds of macroinvertebrates, including dragonfly nymphs! After wrapping up students had lunch outdoors and explored the museum, with the upstairs being a big hit as always. All made wonderful discoveries and had a great day in the sunshine at The Nature Museum!
