Volunteer Tree Planting Day

  • 186 Townshend Road Grafton, VT, 05146 United States (map)

The Wetland restoration project and expansion of the Magic Forest Playscape is ramping up again as spring welcomes us. We need your help! Join us Saturday, May 11th, from 10:00AM - 2:00PM in continuing our important work in the Chapman Meadow and Magic Forest Playscape. Tasks may include:

  • Planting: Native trees, shrubs, and plants.

  • Spreading seed

  • Assisting in creating and placing boardwalks

  • General grounds and playscape clean up

Whether you can help out for one hour or all four, any help is appreciated. This will happen rain or shine. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. This is a great opportunity to gain community service hours for your school or organization while spending time outdoors!

Please meet us at The Nature Musume, 186 Townshend Rd., Grafton, VT 05146. Please park in the parking lot directly across the street from the museum. Please be aware of no parking signs and tenant parking signs. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to give yourself time to check in and get settled before the program/event. Doors will open at 9:30AM.

We may be working in a variety of locations across the Nature Museum property. Areas we explore may have uneven/unlevel terrain and variable ground conditions. Unless there is hazardous weather, this program will occur rain or shine. Please come with proper footwear, clothing, and water (we will have a water refill station) to keep you safe and comfortable.

Light refreshments and snacks will also be provided for volunteers. Dress for gardening/yard work! If you have any tools or work gloves, certainly feel free to bring them.

Send any questions to our staff at jay@nature-museum.org AND info@nature-museum.org, or you can reach us at 802-843-2111. Thank you for your interest and support. We look forward to your help and company on this important day!
