Wild Mushroom Foraging with Chris Denette

$25 per participant
Join us for an immersive outdoor workshop all about wild mushroom foraging. Highlights include ID of edible species versus inedible and toxic species, ID of habitats and ecosystems associated with desired species, specific associations with tree species, leave-no-trace foraging ethics, and key seasonal factors. All experience levels are welcome!
This program will happen rain or shine. If there’s significant hazardous weather, the program will happen on the following day, Sunday 08/21/22, at the same time. We will contact you as soon as possible if this change is necessary. Please be sure that you are available for both the primary event date/time and make up date/time.
We will be meeting at The Nature Museum for the start of this program. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of each session to give yourself time to park, check in, and take care of any needs before we begin. We may caravan by car to nearby locations depending on site conditions.
We may be hiking in areas with moderate incline, uneven terrain, brush, and muddy/wet conditions. We may be away from facilities for long periods of time. Please be prepared with whatever you need to be safe and comfortable for the duration of each session.
An easy to carry bag (mesh) or basket
Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking shoes, boots, or other appropriate footwear
Trekking/walking pole(s)
Sufficient water
A snack
Insect repellent
About Chris Denette: Chris holds a Wild Mushroom Course Certification from Mountain Mushroom. He’s an avid mushroom hunter, nature lover, mushroom cultivator, conservationist, and Dad. Chris is full of knowledge about mushrooms and countless other plant and animal treasures.
