Join us for a full day of free activities to celebrate Earth Day! Make wildflower “seed bombs,” explore the Magic Forest Natural Playscape and our trails through the woods and meadow, see what’s coming up in our native pollinator garden, and stay for three hour-long programs. No sign up is necessary and the whole day is free/by donation!
Are you signed up for one of our summer camp sessions? Have questions? Stop by during our Earth Day Open House to meet the staff, see the space, and review the program.

Scavenger Hunts, inside and out
Camp Fire (conditions allowing)
Natural Playscape exploration
Hour Long Free Programs:
10:30 - 11:30 Busy Beavers: One of Nature’s Extraordinary Architects
Did you know that the North American beaver is one of the largest rodents in the world and an “architect”? Learn more about their way of life and how they change the landscape to create a home. Observe real beaver biofacts, listen to a story, and learn how to build your own model beaver dam. We’ll head outdoors for part of this program, rain or shine!
12:30 - 1:30 Walk Like a Wolf
Join naturalist and Nature Museum director Nick Katrick for wolf facts and a short walk where we’ll learn about the differences between human and wolf senses, and you’ll learn about historic wolf populations in the Northeast.
2:30 - 3:30 Fairy House Building
Fire up your imaginations by creating your own Fairy Village. We’ll go over some building basics, take a look at some inspiring examples, and read a fairy story. Then, we’ll head off into the field and forest to create fairy houses, parks, gardens, or whatever students are inspired to build. This collaborative outdoor experience encourages creativity, problem solving, and taking a fresh look at nature's small wonders. We’ll head outdoors rain or shine!
