Program for Week Five, July 13th - July 17th
About Summer Unplugged: Thanks to the generous support from Great River Hydro, The Nature Museum brings free environmental education programming to public libraries and the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder and Visitor Center during the summer months. These engaging free programs highlight topics related to the unique ecology and landscape of Northern New England.
Geared toward ages Pre-K through elementary grades, all ages are welcome! Programs will be 45 minutes long with dedicated time for a story reading and any nature-related questions you may have for our expert educators. Library programs will be outdoors with lots of space for everyone. Join us to unplug, discover, and learn!
Pre-registration is recommended but not required — please let the libraries know you are coming if you can! Click on the Registration button below
Who Eats What at Nature’s Dinner Table?
Carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, detritivore. These are the names that scientists use to describe different kinds of eaters in the natural world. What does a fox eat? How about a deer? What about a skunk? What kind of eater is a human? Do plants “eat”? Come learn about the many different kinds of eaters, what their dinner looks like, and how they go about finding food and eating it too. Participants will get to take a look at animal skulls, teeth, and other visuals to learn about how and why animals eat what they do!
