We will be producing our signature Fairy House Festival in its true magical spirit again this year with a virtual twist.
Hosting this fanciful community-building event has always been a highlight of Fall for over 1200 fairy friends from all over New England. However, instead of an event centered in our Nature Museum woods, this year we are encouraging YOU to help us produce a professional video retrospective.
We can’t meet on the fairy house trail this year, but we can still feel the excitement, thrill, and bubbling energy of more than a decade of fairy house festivals. Relive the warmth of a fall day in the Vermont woods, fairy children and adults flitting about the fields, bubbles floating on the breeze, faces transformed by paint into butterflies and wizards, and a fairy house village tucked secretly away on our woodland trail. It’ll all be happening on our virtual tour.
We know that it’s disappointing not to don our costumes and gather in person for our grand event, but there’s still plenty of fairy dust, acorn caps, and wee doorways to be found. Won’t you help us build something beautiful together that everyone can enjoy again and again?
Here’s how to enjoy the wonders of nature and contribute to our exciting project:
Let your imagination run wild. Construct a fairy house in your backyard using all natural materials. A shell can be a bathtub, an acorn top a bowl or a milkweed pod a fairy cradle...
Invite friends to join and build a village! Perhaps your village needs a hotel, a spa, a school, a riding stable or a playground. There are endless possibilities.
Spread the magic by making your own fairy house trail and send us a photo!
Relive festival memories in your photo library. Send us your favorite images from past fairy house festivals.
Capture your memories in words. Poems, vignettes, love letters -- send us your written memories of our legendary festival.
Look for our 13th Fairy House Festival tour playing on your screen this Fall. It’s bound to be a winner you’ll want to watch over and over!
