In Northern New England, the winter season transforms the landscape into a true winter wonderland. With all the cold and the snow come fun activities like skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating, and more! But, why does winter happen? Why are snowflakes sometimes big and other times they’re small? How do snowshoes make it easier for you to walk through the snow? Come find out the answers to some of these questions and learn more about the hows and whys of winter. Join us to make a snowflake craft, try out a pair of snowshoes, bring your own sled to slide down our hill, make a snowman, and embrace the beauty of the season! Make sure to do a snow dance and join us in celebrating winter!
Ages: 3 to 6 years old + caregiver
Cost: $5 per child if registered in advance; Drop In: $8 per child. Caregivers always free.

All Mighty Acorns Club programs are on the first Friday of the month from 10:00AM - 11:30AM. Programs begin in October and end in May, and are geared for ages 3 - 6.
Mighty Acorns Club will happen rain or shine! Make sure you and your mighty acorn(s) are ready for whatever the weather has in store for us! If there are unsafe weather conditions (e.g. thunder/lightning, high winds, extreme cold, etc.), we will have an alternative indoor activity. If there is hazardous weather for traveling, The Nature Museum’s closure due to weather follows the decision of Grafton Elementary School. Please check local listings for Grafton Elementary School to see if they’re closed.
