Mighty Acorns: Leave, Sleep, or Bundle Up? What Plants and Animals Do When Winter Winds Begin to Blow!

The leaves are gone, nights become cold, and snowflakes fly as chilly winds begin to blow! The first signs of winter are right at our doorstep. For us, that means getting out our winter coats, gloves, and hats! But, what do animals do to be ready for winter? Learn what animals leave for winter, what animals sleep for winter, and what animals stay out and about. Come investigate fur, feathers, and more to learn about the different ways animals survive the winter months.

Ages: 3 to 6 years old + caregiver
Cost:
$5 per child if registered in advance; Drop In: $8 per child. Caregivers always free.

All Mighty Acorns Club programs are on the first Friday of the month from 10:00AM - 11:30AM. Programs begin in October and end in May, and are geared for ages 3 - 5.

Mighty Acorns Club will happen rain or shine! Make sure you and your mighty acorn(s) are ready for whatever the weather has in store for us! If there are unsafe weather conditions (e.g. thunder/lightning, high winds, extreme cold, etc.), we will have an alternative indoor activity. If there is hazardous weather for traveling, The Nature Museum’s closure due to weather follows the decision of Grafton Elementary School. Please check local listings for Grafton Elementary School to see if they’re closed.
