Learn about the animals and critters that inhabit the land surrounding The Nature Museum. We'll play tons of games, make new discoveries through various activities, including hikes. You can look forward to your child relishing in some unrestricted nature play, as well as craft and stories time.
Time in nature increases health, happiness, and well-being in kids. Unplug from electronics and reconnect with nature! Our Brave Bear camps include educational, hands-on experiences that bring children outside to exercise their minds and bodies. We build confidence and independence by teaching nature wilderness skills in a safe and fun group environment. Wonder is our goal! Youth will cultivate a deeper relationship with the natural world with The Nature Museum.
Campers can look forward to special guests dropping by to share their knowledge and expertise. One such guest—Bob Engle, Professor Emeritus from Marlboro College. Engle taught biology and environmental science for over 30 years and he was highly regarded for his ability to inspire students and tap into their innate passion for nature. We have little doubt that the same will be said for his visit to our Brave Bears. Engle teaches about how a snake knows there is a world out there, why and how bugs are like us, why some plants make flowers and why some don’t. All lessons will have the same underlying golden thread—that we are all sharing this planet together!
We look forward to a fun-filled week!
Parents are required to complete a medical emergency form (download) when dropping off their children for camp with The Nature Museum. Please send this form to Kimberly O'Connor (kimberly@nature-museum.org) in advance or bring it with you on the first day of camp.
