Everyone loves listening to the love songs of our returning bird friends in Spring. Yet if you are like most folks, each year you ask yourself “Who is that avian songster?” Once again The Nature Museum is here to help you find answers with a fun, educational experience. On Saturday, May 21st, Bob Engel, our educator extraordinaire, will lead an timate nature walk during the height of spring migration. 

Bob is a Professor Emeritus from Marlboro College where he taught biology and environmental science for over 30 years and inspired students to tap into their innate passion for nature. Bob is also a highly popular teacher in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute where he really packs them in. Bob is fun, informative, and energized by helping everyone from beginners to experienced “twitchers” deepen their enjoyment of birds through song and sight identification.  This immersion will help deepen your connection to nature and make every walk more magical. 

For those who would like to carpool we will meet at 7:00 a.m. at The Nature Museum in Grafton. From there we will carpool to a remote private property 15 minutes away which has a brook, pond, meadow and woods. Directions to the property will be e-mailed once registration is received.  

This experience is geared to adults (beginners are urged to join us) and is limited to 10 participants.  Participants should be prepared for slightly hilly terrain at a slow nature lover’s pace and should bring a water bottle and binoculars. Come with questions and leave with answers! We have a number of binoculars available for participants to borrow.
